Italian Spinone: Simple Guidance & Tips with Italiano Spinones

The Italian Spinone is an Italian dog breed that’s known for being extremely loyal and affectionate. This dog breed is usually pretty easy to train, but even so, it can still be a little bit hard for people that have no experience as dog trainers. If you’re looking for a few simple tips that can help you train your little rapscallion then you’ve come to the right place. The Spinone in the picture above is named “Roman”.  If you’re looking for dog walking philly , check out Sitters4Critters.

1. Be gentle

If you want your Italian Spinone to follow your lead then you have to speak loud and clear, but you can never be aggressive towards him. The Italian Spinone can quickly sense danger and run away from it, so if you want to have a successful training session then you need to be patient and calm.

2. Teach them while they’re young

If you don’t take advantage of the fact that puppies tend to learn way more as a puppy than an adult dog then you might have already lost your only chance to make training your Italian Spinone an easy process. If you have a Spinone puppy then you need to make sure you train them as soon as possible because if you won’t then it’ll be much harder later on.

3. Potty training comes first

No matter if your dog is a puppy or a fully-fledged toy chewer; you need to make sure your dog is potty trained. The Italian Spinone is very easy to train, so it shouldn’t be too hard for you, but instead of training him to speak or sit, you should focus more on the potty training part. Italiano Spinones tend to be quite territorial, so make this your priority immediately.

4. Get them to socialize a bit

Make sure you take them outside regularly and that you take them on walks on a daily basis. The Italian Spinone is very active and playful, so keeping them inside will only make them resent you.  Also, meeting new people every day will make your pet much friendlier.

5. Rewards

If your pet is reacting positively to the training then that dog deserves a treat, and if that dog has done an exceptional job, then you’ve got to show that dog that you care about them. Make sure the dog understand that what they did was good by taking them to the Sitters4Critters Dog Daycare Center. After a quick visit they’ll be much easier to train because they’ll know what they’ll get if they follow your lead again.
