How does our pet boarding work?

At Sitters4Critters, we believe in going above and beyond for our furry guests. We’ve created a unique system to closely monitor your pet’s diet, activities, potty habits, and behavior. Our private boarders complete a special caretaker sheet, which is then reviewed by you, the pet owner, before your pet’s stay. This ensures that every aspect of your pet’s visit aligns with your vision and expectations. We want your pet to feel comfortable, loved, and happy throughout their stay with us.

Unlike traditional boarding kennels, our pet-boarding service ensures that your dog becomes the only dog staying in our private home – unless otherwise requested. We want to make your pet’s stay as seamless as possible. That’s why we kindly request that owners provide their pet’s food to ensure their stomachs won’t be upset by unfamiliar brands. If you forget to bring enough food, don’t worry! We’ll happily purchase more and bill you for the difference. And for pets who sleep in kennels at night, please bring one along, as it provides a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Personal Food

Owners are expected to provide their pet’s own food to decrease GI upset. If enough food is not supplied, we will purchase more and bill the difference.

Kennels

Since we are a cage-free (cage less), private, in-home boarder, a cage (kennel) is not required unless your pet sleeps in one at night; then please bring one.

Dog Boarding Requirements:

All dogs must wear a quick release collar with a name tag while in our care. When arriving and departing, all dogs must be on fixed length leashes (i.e. no retractable leashes).
All pets must be on a regular flea control program. If we see fleas or ticks on your dog, we reserve the right to administer and charge for a flea and tick bath during its visit.

Dog Boarding Vaccination Requirements:

Bordetella (kennel cough) required yearly
Rabies (either 1 or 3 year vaccine accepted)
Distemper or Distemper combo shots such as DHPP or DHLPP (either 1 or 3 year vaccine accepted)
Recommended but not required: Canine Flu (both H3N2 and H3N8 vaccines)

Cat Boarding Vaccination Requirements:

Feline Leukemia: 1 year or 3 year vaccine accepted
Rabies: 1 year or 3 year vaccine accepted
FVRCP: 1 year or 3 year vaccine accepted (Covers feline rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia)
